The unseen servant moves on to the other goblin (Goblin Two). The search is thorough, disturbing, and lucrative. His gear appears to be quite similar to the other goblin. Instead of a masterwork shortsword, his light crossbow is masterwork. His pack is similarly bulging with seemingly discarded clothing. In the bottom of his pack, there is a small sack that is also filled with coins and rough gems. The gems look similar, and are worth about another 200g (400g total in gems). Counting the coins are about 31g 352s 147c. He was also carrying a potion of Cure Light Wounds, and he also had a canister of the strange paste, wrapped up tightly in rags.
I am adding all of their loot to the Treasure Calculator. I am assuming you will remove everything from them, even the items that the unseen servant cannot remove. If there is anything on the list that will be left with the goblins, take them off the list. I will leave the value blank for the things you have not identified, that does not mean they are worthless.

If someone else wants to carry the potions, that is fine by me. Tessa shrugs and hands one to Surallel. And Darvan, if you want them in your keeping you are free to take them with us as far as I'm concerned. If you are concerned about civilians in the bandit camp we can probably work out some sort of plan, but first... should we check and see if that bird that was taken out of the sky is the one that warned us the other night? There might still be time to save him if we hurry.

After Tessa approaches the eagle, she finds that the eagle is dead, pierced through the chest with a bolt. It is impossible to definitively identify this bird as the same from the other night, but it looks the same.

Darvan, we are not talking about the infirm and helpless here, we are talking about enemies that attacked us. Enemies that are clearly capable of killing others. Rothgar points at the clothes that appear to be from non-goblin sources. I will not have their further crimes on my head. With that said, I will not ask you to take part in what I feel I must do. If you wish to report my actions then do so.Ravna, I will ensure that it is a quick death. He then puts down his shield, takes his axe in both hands, takes a moment to whisper a short prayer, and decapitates the stabalized goblin. {Coup de Grace}+5 Str, +2 for 2 handed, x3 for Crit jT93v|n03d8+21 3d8+21

Rothgar's stroke is clean, separating the goblin a the neck, there is no reaction from the goblin. There are now two dead goblins in the field, one hobgoblin slowly bleeding out.

Ravna turns away from Rothgar's grim work, ostensibly checking her mount's gear.
Ember can carry anything that needs carrying, she announces, then bends down to check the horse's shoes for rocks or debris.

Darvan watches as Rothgar severs the goblin's head from its body. As Rothgar finishes and begins moving towards the hobgoblin, Darvan rises silently from his side and moves to Ravna's horse and helps load its saddlebags with the items taken from the goblins.

Rothgar moves to the hobgoblin and similarly whispers a short prayer under his breath and decapitates the hobgoblin.
He then finds an unbloodied patch of ground and wipes his axe clean.
Assuming we have everything we need, let's move out.

After the horse is loaded, the party returns to their trek.
The party is on edge, leery of more bandits, goblin or otherwise. The time passes quietly, with little of the idle chatter or discussion that filled previous days of travel. The quiet only adds to the unease of the journey. Without conversation, every sound in the surrounding country can be heard. The rest of the day is exhausting, both physically and mentally, but there is no sign of attack or pursuit. When night falls the party sets up camp and a watch schedule. Those on watch are a little jumpy, it seems the further you get from Cold Lake, the more wild and untamed the land gets, land ripe for wild creatures or bandits.
The sun rises and the party slowly rises with it. Tessa however is greeted slightly differently as she rises. Nestled tightly against her in her bedroll is a small jackrabbit. It understandably startles her. That, in turn, startles the rabbit. It starts to jump away, but stops, as if realizing why it is here at all. It then turns back to Tessa and hops onto her chest, and stares into her eyes. Its nose twitches, and it has a quizzical look in its eyes. Tessa then notices that there is a small scroll case tied to the side of the rabbit.

Hello little one. Tessa reaches forward slowly, trying not to startle the little rabbit as she reaches for the case.

The rabbit seems unconcerned that Tessa is reaching toward it. If anything, the rabbit almost seems like it wants Tessa to grab the case. The case is tied on using a loose string. Tessa has no trouble removing it. As soon as the case is freed the rabbit hops away. Inside the case are two papers, a handwritten note and a map. The handwriting is poor, deep hard scratches with a quill, and the paper is marked by blotched ink. Despite this, the note is legible, barely. The note is written in common, but scrawled along the bottom is series of strange runes. The map appears to be a map of the region, with the large forest before you prominent. There is a dark red line along the interior of the forest, perhaps a few miles from natural border of the forest. {Spoiler} Dear Rothgar, Tessa, Surallel, Ravna, and DarvanThe goblinoids were an inherently destructive and disrespectful presence. Their end is greeted with modicum of satisfaction, as it means they will not be inflicted upon our home. Your efforts in that matter are appreciated. In that spirit of appreciation, we extend to you a warning. The Shepherd will not tolerate wolves among his charges. Kings, wizards and warlords rightly fear The Shepherd, so too should you. What men call 'Zarakwald' is not a realm where men may tread, save by The Shepherd's leave. A great darkness sits, restless, upon our borders. It is watched, cautiously, as are you. If the removal of this darkness is your goal, you may earn our gratitude once again. If not, then it would be better for you to return to your own groves, lest you earn The Shepherd's wrath.

Tessa approaches the group as they all begin to wake. We've received a strange message, she says, and shows the company the contents of the scroll case. I think the darkness they are referring to are the bandits, but what do the rest of you make of it?

Rothgar pulls out the map he borrowed from Captain Tane an tries to compare the 2 maps to get a better understanding of how to get to the darkness on the map.

Comparing the two maps reveals that the ruins/bandit camp are on the outside of the red border. The note mentions darkness, but there is no indication on the map of a location.
For those players who have not yet responded, please respond. I would like to make sure everyone has read the note in question, and been able to have some input.

May I take a look at the note. Perhaps the application of my considerable intellectual and magical power can shed some light on this 'darkness' Surallel takes the note and seems to disappear, deep in thought. Hmmmm? Hmmmm! These runes are sylvan, but the language is nothing I am familiar with. Perhaps.... Surallel stops mid sentence and begins muttering strange words to himself, closing his eyes tightly. When he opens his eyes, they glow with a eerie blue light. DC 15 SpellcraftThe writing does not seem to be magical. So, either the author scribbled a lot of nonsense on the bottom of the note... or there is some hidden meaning. He looks up from the note, somewhat surprised to see other people around, as if he was merely talking to himself. How did this note arrive Tessa? Logic would suggest that someone who went to such great lengths to deliver a missive, would not put some absent doodles on it. Perhaps this Gwehan has small children, or perhaps the whole note was dictated to a child, that would explain the poor penmanship. Makes little sense, so what are our alternatives? Secret message perhaps? Possible, but! why include a secret message that we cannot decipher? Unless! Only one of us is the intended recipient. A potentially chilling thought, that one of our number could be in league with a mystery writer with bad handwriting and his pastoral overlord. Surallel looks up for a moment, scanning the group suspiciously. Then he shakes his head. Rather far fetched. I suppose most straightforward answer is the magic. Incidentally, the best answer in nearly all of life's problems. Again, Surallel closes his eyes, and mutters words of power to no one in particular. DC 16 SpellcraftWhen Surallel's eyes open, his eyes seem to be covered in rotating script. Letters and words in dozens of different scripts fly across his eyes as he reads the paper aloud. The Shepherd's wrath is terrible and earth shattering. His love and friendship can be even greater. He welcomes all those who come in the spirit of friendship and understanding.
Perhaps another warning? Or an invitation? A secret invitation?
