Surallel shakes his hair and walks over to the door. Stand aside, please. I shall bring forth the awesome power of the knowledge of the cosmos to bear on whatever.......Die rollknowledge nature iGsohIf91d20+6 As Surallel walks into the room, his sentence trails off, picked up under his breath in Elven Elven....the fuck are these things? As Surallel walks into the room, the 3 green creatures, seem to jump. A frantic and hurried chorus of chirps and ticks fill the room. Finally, the larger one raises his free hand, silencing the others. Creature Two puts his spear to the neck (probably? There is no visible neck, just a mass of rags) of Creature A. Creature One steps closer to Surallel, staring intently at his face. It is difficult to tell, but it almost seems like the little green humanoid is sniffing Surallel. Surallel recoils slightly, eyes drawn to the long claws on the ends of the creatures tiny hands. Creature One resumes its clicking and chirping, without takings its little yellow eyes off Surallel. SurallelThey seems to be communicating with each other. Eager to know why they haven't attacked.Surallel holds his palms out toward Creature One. He begins muttering words of a spell. A few moments after Surallel finishes his spell, Creature One begins chirping and clicking again. While doing so, he slowly nods his head and then shakes it. It looks intently at Surallel the whole time. SurallelThe casting of the spell imparts the knowledge of the strange green creature's language.
You seek to understand us? Then you are not some kind of albino Farmer? He stares at you for a moment, as if waiting for a reaction. We know the language of the Farmers and their tools. Can you nod your head for 'yes'.. As he looks at you, he slowly nods his head. ..or shake it for 'no'? he slowly shakes his head.

Surallel shakes his head almost as if to get water out of his ears. "Pardon me. The languages spell sometimes makes me feel like someone else is speaking for me. Does anybody know what these things are?"
Waiting for Players to RespondSurallel returns his gaze and eye contact with the green creature and nods his head up and down in a yes or affirmative motion. "Ok, this may be a bit of an outside chance but it's worth a shot....I guess."{Surallel speaking Draconian} Behold! I am Surallel Starspeaker. I commune with the Stars. They are most curious about this place. Who are you and what is this place?

SurallelYou do know that spell only works one-way, right? You can yell and scream in whatever language you want, but thankfully I cannot understand it. Perhaps..... He turns to the rag bound figure. I will see if this foul creature has something that can help us. Keep your steel guardian back, if you are no minion of the Farmers, we have no quarrel with you. He steps back toward the ragbound creature. He roughly rips his backpack from him, and begins rummaging around in it. He withdraws a small vial, opens it, and sniffs it. He then tosses it aside, and continues rummaging. After tossing 2 more vials, he smiles after sniffing the 4th. He replaces the stopper, and tosses to you. This potion should allow us easier communication. We are incapable of speaking any language but our own, a curse of the Farmers, but it should allow you to speak a language we can understand, such as his. With that, he roughly kicks the ragbound creature. SpellcraftiP3D9Yj|1d20+13DC 18 spellcraft, identify potion The creature clicks and chirps at Surallel. No clue, mutters Ravna from the corner of her mouth. Someone say something charming. I'm not sure about the look of this lot...

I agree, those green things look too much like that fungus for my liking. Maybe we should free the dark one and see if it can help us.

I'm not so sure we should rush to judgement. Tessa considered the beings before them for a second. The three chattering at us are Vegepygmies. Most people consider them ignorant savages, but there is some evidence that they might be smarter than people generally understand. The one they are holding captive is a Dark Creeper. The Creeper should speak Undercommon, I believe, if anyone here knows it, and can generate darkness. Surallel seems to understand what they are saying to some degree, so maybe he can enlighten us as to what is going on.

Surallel takes a swig of the potion handed to him by the pygmy. He then tosses the empty bottle to Ravna. Addressing the group: "Right, thanks for the information! I will now attempt to communicate with these....things. Also, Rothgar, you make them real uneasy so be casual but Don't look like you're being casual."Surallel turns to address the pygmy that handed him the potion and speaks in what tongue the potion allows him to converse with it: {Undercommon} "Right, are you able to understand me now?! Listen up you overgrown mold, pardon me for trying to break the speech barrier by using a dialect that all evidence in this dump has suggested MIGHT by a form of communication down here! NOW, as I said before you uneducated and apparently farm cursed lesser specimen, I AM Surallel Starspeaker, I commune with the stars! They want to know what is this place, who are you, why are you down here, who ELSE is down here, and I want to know why hassle the creeper?! OH and also, the big metal guy, he was sent with me for a purpose so answer the questions and see to it that you don't become a problem for our purpose!"

the Vegepygmy stares directly at Surallel, chirps and clicking with increased energy. Sense Motive DC 20The Vegepygmy appears to be very agitated, both with the creeper and Surallel. His anger seems to build by the second. His eyes dart between Surallel and the rest of the party, as if weighing their strengths or fighting ability. Vegepygmy LanguageI do not know who the stars are, nor do we care. You insult us, for not knowing your tongue, yet you and your companions stand dumbfounded when presented with the most common language in the world. Forgive us, then for not more fully acquainting ourselves with your esoteric screeching before fleeing for our lives!
As for our knowledge of this place. We know little of this place, having only arrived yesterday. There is a strange abyss, beyond that hallway. He indicates the hallway, into which, the party extends. Through the doorway is a gelatinous cube, easy enough to avoid if you are quick, quiet and careful. We had hoped it would provide some shield from those hunting us. You ask why we 'hassle' this filthy mongrel, we hassle it, because you interrupted us before we could make something USEFUL out of him. His last chirp seemed especially shrill, and was followed by another kick. He has been hunting us for weeks. The larger green figure kicks the creeper again, his motions and chirping become more forceful and shrill. He is interrupted by the creeper, whose voice is strained. UndercommonI was only hired to do a job! These things run away from their owners, I gets paid to bring em back. The Vegepygmy chirps loudly at the creeper. VegepygmyYou get paid to send MY PEOPLE to SLAUGHTER! WE WILL NOT BE A FUCKING MEAL! The other Vegepygmies echo the sentiment. The Vegepygmy seems to shake slightly. His hands, or perhaps his claws, twitch. The room falling silent. RavnaThe vial contained a potion of Tongues

Surallel listens intently to the chirping and the undercommon of the the creeper. He finally rolls his eyes and turns to the group and leans in to speak in common tongue.
"Soooo, I've chatted it up with these horrible things in their filthy mold tongue. They are extremely upset. Rothgar interrupted a mating ritual. They were planning to gangmate with the creeper in what I can only imagine would be a horrible display. The Creeper's pretty scared and seemed to indicate he maybe has more information. The pygmies want Rothgar's severed head and the females as recompense for interrupting. They said I can go free if that happens and that Darvan can come with me. But Darvan would have to strip naked first. He hasn't done anything to offend them but..they just don't like him. I couldn't pin it down why."
Surallel looks over his shoulder back to the pygmies and the creeper and returns to close conversation with the group.
"My suggestion would be to axe up the moldspawn and save the creeper and pump him for information."

While Surallel speaks in hushed tones to the party. The lead Vegepygmy shrugs a pack off his back. He fishes out a large clay pot. He chirps something to Creature Two. RothgarAt first, what Surallel says seems crazy, but then you think it makes perfect sense. Surallel made a Bluff check, even with modifiers Rothgar's Sense Motive is not high enough to see through it. Vegepygmy LanguageFuck it. Open his filthy mouth. Creature Two grab hold of the creeper who struggles against it. The lead vegepygmy unseals the pot, chirping as he goes. Vegepygmy LanguageWhomever your Stars are, I will not surrender my people to them or anyone. We will live free, or die. I watched my siblings boiled alive and served to men who haunt and hound me. I will die before I see that happen again. So long as you do not deny us our freedom, our justice, we have no quarrel with you. He glances at Surallel. The Vegepygmy reaches into the pot and withdraws a large handful of...something. It looks like dirt, but coated in a thick layer of cotton. He bows his head to the substance, as if in some sort of reverence. Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 16 The substance in the small creatures hand is Russet Mold. It is highly poisonous, infecting victims through release of spore clouds. Death is often quick but painful. Often, movement near the mold causes it to release the cloud. Sunlight seems to kill the spores, but not the mold. Acid or alcohol can kill the mold. Vegepygmy LanguageHe seems to whisper. May you be born without fear, may you die knowing only freedom. He raises his 'voice' and directs it toward Surallel. Best keep your people clear, this stuff is quite lethal to your kind. He stands, carrying the substance toward the creeper. His eyes grow wide with fear and he struggles to break free. All Players please Respond.
