Ravna studies to two doorways, stroking her non-existent beard.
Did you hear that? Sounded like... Surallel, is that your stomach again?!

Surallel loudly yells from the back of the line "WHHHHAAATTTTT?!?!?"Then assured everyone was paying attention to him and in a more conversation level volume says and assuming everyone in his party is a dullard ignorant of the most basic information on elves says "Don't be ignorant, Ravna. It's rather unfetching. We elves are sustained by the cosmos."Surallel then closes his eyes and waves his hand over the room. {Spoiler} Surallel casts Detect Magic

Rothgar bends over, takes out a set of tools, and begins work on the tripwire. A few seconds in, Ravna and Surallel hear a barely audible oops from the steel-clad trapsmith. Before they can even wonder over the cause, tension cords snap and whirl overhead. A few stray pebbles filter through the webbing on the ceiling, as a rumble shakes the entire hallway. An instant later, the entire ceiling cascades down onto those in the hallway. Attack vs Surallel, Ravna, and Rothgar PjEM_tV_1d20+10 Damage 4d6

As heavy stones rain down on the hallway, Tessa and Darvan recoil in horror. They are shielded from the bulk of the stones by the stairway. The sheer volume of stones, there is no way anything in the hallway could survive unscathed. The hallway is thick with an impenetrable dust. For a few seconds, stones continue to fall from the ceiling. As the last stragglers makes their way to the ground, the dust begins to settle. As it settles, the lights from the ioun torches and Surallel's magic peek through. It seems an eternity for the dust to settle enough for Tessa and Darvan to see clearly. To their utter amazement, all three of their companions are standing, with no visible injuries. They are covered in a thick layer of dust. Surallel's usually dark brown hair, looks matted and gray. Ravna's face is streaked where she clenched in reflex, folds and dimples closed so tight the dust could not coat. Rothgar stands, barely visible, at the end of the hall, shaking off thick piles of gravel and dirt from his armor.
The entire hallway is now filled with stones of various shapes and sizes, and is now difficult terrain.
In the door beyond, there are shuffling sounds, as well as some clicks, and the voice from before speaking in a raised voice.

For 'disarming' the trap, the party receives 800 XP, 160 each.As the door swings open, light floods into the room. The walls of the cavernous room are lined with shelves, most of which have crumbled into pieces or fallen over. There are 4 small beings in the room. Three beings are short, very thin, and green. Tendrils of fungus dangle from their heads, like hair. Two wield spears that appear to be made of bone, the third and slightly largest of the three (Creature One) holds no weapon, but his fingers appear long, ending in sharp points. One hand appears to be wrapped around the throat of the 4th being in the room. Its features are difficult to discern, as it appears to be wrapped in many many layers of moldering fabric. When Rothgar appears in the doorway, 8 eyes quickly dart in his direction. Rothgar is caught off guard by a chorus of clicks, chirps, and thrumming sounds emanating from the green figures. The two wielding spears gingerly take a step away from the door.

Creature One, turns to his captive, and emits another series of clicks and thumps, all while vigorously pointing with his freehand toward the dust and steelclad man in the doorway. His captive shakes his head violently, and shouts in an unknown language. Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 12The captive creature is a Dark Creeper. One of the lesser 'Dark Folk'. They are a common sight in the more shallow areas of the Underdark. They are often encountered by Dwarven scouts, and usually flee from the dwarves. Reports suggest that they are usually scavengers, who only venture into the shallows in force, or desperation. Those with who travel with purpose usually do so at the bidding of the more powerful denizens who dwell deeper in the Underdark. Dark Creepers are distinguishable by their their habit of wrapping themselves in thick layers of cloth. Dark Creepers are small, and prefer to rely on stealthy ambushes and poison to defend themselves. They eschew bright light, and their appearance on the surface is extremely rare. Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 17In this region, Dark Creepers are somewhat common below the surface. In recent years, their appearance has been more and more common. When encountered by Dwarven tunnel scouts, they are tight lipped about their purpose or designs, but take great pains to reassure any scouts who find them. These reassurances are often met with skepticism. As yet, the Dark Folk have taken no actions against the dwarves or dwarven forays into the deep. Dark Folk possess an intelligence roughly equal to that of humans or dwarves, even having their own distinct language. Dark Folk who work for, or trade with, other denizens of the Underdark often learn Undercommon, the dominant language of the Underdark. In areas of bright light, Dark Creepers are effectively blind. Creepers do possess the ability to create an area of darkness at will, using their innate spell power to replicate the Darkness spell Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 22Last year, in response to the increased Dark Folk activity near the Dwarven realms, an expedition was sent to secure answers. The dwarves, learned that a number of tribes of Dark Folk had hired themselves out, as mercenaries to a great power from the deeps, or more accurately the Dark Folk were hunting slaves hoping to escape by running to the shallows or the surface. Outraged, the dwarven commander returned home, hoping to lead his people into a war against the dark folk, in support of the escaping slaves. Without more knowledge of who the escaped slaves were, the clan leaders were reluctant to send more expeditions.
When a Dark Creeper is slain, its body explodes in a burst of bright light, often blinding others in the area, even their fellow Dark Folk. Knowledge Nature DC 11 (Gardening DC 16)The small green creatures are Vegepygmies. Few surfacers have ever heard of them, fewer still have ever seen them. They are often considered to be savage primitives, creatures who use bone weapons or their own claws to attack their enemies on sight. They share a curious relationship with Russet Mold, but the details are largely speculative. Knowledge Nature DC 15 (Gardening DC 20)Sightings, or reports of sightings of Vegepygmies have increased in the last few years. The cause of this is unknown, but some Dwarven tunnel scouts suspect that they might be migrating, or fleeing something from deeper in the Underdark. Increased contact has altered the general opinion of the Vegepygmies. They were often viewed as unintelligent savages, little more than beasts. There are reports, in increasing numbers, of the vegepygmies coordinating, laying ambushes, even trading goods among themselves and some of the other denizens of the Underdark. There is even speculation that the vegepygmies are capable of understanding speak, if still physically incapable of speaking. Often seen travelling in small packs, Vegepygmies will often carry clay jars filled with Russet Mold, the purpose of which none know. Knowledge Nature DC 22 (Gardening DC 27)A dwarven Cave Druid, named Ziri Ironheel, recently attempted to make contact with the Vegepygmies. While travelling with them, he learned their language, and even learned much of their origin. Deeper in the Underdark, the Vegepygmies are kept as slaves, grown and eaten by their masters, whom Vegepygmies call Farmers. According to Ziri, the increased sightings of Vegepygmies is due to a recent revolt, in which many slaves fought against the Farmers, while others simply fled as far and as fast as they could. While Ziri's accounts have largely been rejected, they are currently the only explantion for the increase Vegepygmy activity.

Rothgar shouts back to the group. Anyone have any idea what these things are?
He then cautiously steps through the doorway, leaving his axe on his belt, and shield up in a defensive posture.

Ravna expels a gobbet of spit and grit onto the floor. Just like home! She smacks her lips loudly. Hmm... loamy... and acidic. Good soil for fruit and--oh!
She bounds up to stand behind Tessa, peering over the other woman's head.
